Cynergy specializes in medium voltage work tasks that most electrical contractors cannot perform. Our seasoned professional associates are capable of poly and lead cable installations up to 35,000 volts.

You can view our recent project at the Fauquier County Landfill. Methane landfill gas was designed to run two 2-mega-watt generators to produce 35,000 volts delivered to the local utility. The project consisted of a pre-engineered metal structure to house the generator and electrical equipment. A step-up outdoor substation connects the 480 volt generated power to the 35,000 volt distribution voltage.

The landfill gas was delivered to the engine generator using a compressor/dryer. All process piping was stainless steel due to the caustic nature of the fuel supply. The engines were cooled using closed loop outdoor cooling towers. The plant has been operated for over a year.
